A massage is the perfect way to relieve tension and there are so many different techniques available, there’s sure to be one you fancy trying.
Don’t forget to drink lots of water on the day of your treatment because toxins are released during a massage and water helps to flush them out of your system.
Get outside: When you need to clear your mind there’s nothing like getting a breath of fresh air. Take a brisk walk or a jog in the park; you can take the i-pod and do it to music or just listen to the birdsong around you. Or you can tune out to everything that is going on around you and concentrate on the rhythm of your strides. You’ll find yourself feeling pretty Zen in no time at all.
You don’t even have to get off the beaten path – a circuit round the neighbourhood will work.
Soak in the tub: There’s nothing like a nice hot bath to relax your muscles and your mind.
For optimal stress-quenching results, add a bath salt that will moisturise your skin and help loosen you up with a soothing scent.
While you are soaking use a pumice on your feet and a loofah on your knees and elbows for extra polish.
