Emms bags brace in eight-try Amps rout

Ampthill, running down the hill in the second half, tore through Bracknell, scoring 36 points without reply after a competitive first half, which ended 20-16 to the home side.

Ampthill scored eight tries in the game, which came from Richard Emms (2), Paul Davies, Lee Anker, Terry Cooper, Phil Lane, Ben Brierley and Carl Palm, of which six came in the second period.

Fly-half Chris Anderson scored four conversions and two penalties before he went off injured midway through the second half.

Paul Davies converted one of the second half tries.

After injuries last week forced Ampthill into changes, the new first team recruits gelled to put in a much improved performance.
