AMPTHILL 30 DORKING 23
National League Division Three London & South East
A 15-point haul from the boot of Ampthill’s Chris Anderson saw off a stubborn Dorking side.
The game ebbed and flowed, but the hosts remained in front for the duration of the contest.
They held a slender seven-point advantage over the visitors at the break – courtesy of tries from Matthew Burke and Stuart Riding, with Burke adding the extras plus two penalties.
Ampthill extended this to a 14-point lead shortly after half-time thanks to a converted Tom Warfield try.
After Dorking narrowed the gap to four points, Anderson secured the win for the hosts with his third penalty of the match three minutes from time.
