Storm Martial Arts and British head coach Anesh Kumar will be leading the national team of 75 fighters to Florida to fight in the Tang Soo Do World Championships from Thursday against competitors from countries including Germany, South Africa, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, Italy and Holland.

Team members are from all over Britain, including Kumar’s students from Bedford Alex Cambell (fourth dan) and Jaz Migill (first dan).

The 31-year-old, who has already won the Commonwealth, European, English, Welsh and British titles, is hoping to make it a clean sweep in the US and fulfill his boyhood dream of becoming the best in the world.

“I’ve never been to America but I’ve wanted to do it since I was a kid,” he said, adding: “I’m going there to invade – I’m not going there to play games.”

Kumar runs Storm Martial Arts classes at Cauldwell Community Centre every Friday from 6-8pm and Saturdays 9-10am. Call 07856717278 for further details.
