John Gorman has said that there was nothing in the incident which resulted in Dons manager Karl Robinson getting sent to the stands last night.
An altercation between the boss and Sheffield Wednesday's Reda Johnson resulted in referee James Linnington giving him his marching orders.
Johnson collapsed to the floor near Robinson after a touchline scuffle and the manager was seen telling him to get up.
"It was a fuss about nothing,' assistant boss Gorman said. The guy fell over and Karl was trying to help him up. I'm not sure where it all came from to be honest."
Gorman added that he thought Dons posed the greatest threat in the 1-1 draw with their promotion rivals.
Luke Chadwick thumped in an opener which bounced in off Sheffield Wednesday keeper Stephen Bywater, before Gary MacKenzie's own goal levelled matters.
"I thought we were the better team by far, without question," Gorman said. "For 25-minutes they didn't get a kick and we passed the ball really well.
"The strike by Chaddy was a bit fortunate but the goal they got we are very disappointed in really. David Martin felt that he was fouled."
Much of the talk was about the signing of Alan Smith, who had to settle with being introduced as a second half substitute.
Gorman said that not much was expected of him in his first outing.
"He's a leader and a talker and someone that we need, he said. "He's going to help us on and off the pitch."
