Dons 'not happy' with stadiummk pitch

Karl Robinson had admitted that he is far from happy with the state of the stadiummk pitch but he has pledged to make the best of what he has at his disposal.

The surface didn't appear to be a problem for Dons as they eased to victories over Oldham and Bury in their last two outings, but the lack of grass is a cause for concern.

However, the boss was quick to praise the club's ground staff who have worked tirelessly on the turf.

"The ground staff work around the clock and have been excellent, it's just one of those years, you don't get any growth on the pitch," Robinson said.

"It's difficult. We're not happy with it, but you have to play on with the cards that you're dealt with.

"The weather has not helped it and there's certain things we normally do in the summer which we couldn't do.

"There's no grass, it's just mud. It's bobbly, lively and very quick. But it's a pitch. It's better than most park pitches our fans use on a Sunday morning, so we can't complain too much. It's there, you have to deal with it."

Robinson is well known for his love of passing football and a slick surface would naturally suit that style.

"We find our best way around it, but imagine how good we'd be on a good pitch," he said.
