Dons complete two deadline day swoops

MK DonsDons strengthened their ranks with two late signings on transfer deadline day.

Manager Karl Robinson moved swiftly to replace right-back Adam Smith, who was recalled from his loan by Tottenham, by bringing in fellow full-back James Tavernier.

The defender, a previous Dons target arrives on loan from Newcastle for the rest of the season as a direct replacement.

He already has League One experience, having turned out for Carlisle and Sheffield Wednesday already this season.

Tottenham immediately loaned Smith out again to Championship side Leeds United.

Also new at stadiummk is Scottish attakcking midfielder Paul Slane, who has arrived on another season's loan from SPL giants Celtic.

And going in the other direction is winger Anthony McNamee, who has been released despite only joining in August.

He has signed for Buckinghamshire rivals Wycombe Wanderers.
