Eagles collected a vital point in a game that saw leading scorer Ian Draycott get back on the scoresheet after a goalless eight games.

Manager Lee Howarth said: “I think we deserved the three points on overall reflection, but when you are 1-0 down with only ten minutes left you will always take the point!”

An even first half ended all square, with the best chance falling to Draycott on the half hour but he failed to convert.

Eagles were caught in the 65th minute when Oxford netted against the run of play.

However, the hosts reacted well and continued to create chances and eventually found the net when Draycott finished from a Craig Daniels flick on in the 80th minute to complete the game’s goalmouth action.
