Eagles manager Ady Williams called his team’s first half performance one of the worst he’s seen since he took over, as Town lost 1-0 for the second game running.
A 34th minute penalty from Nick Stanley settled the match after a Swindon player was pulled down in the box. They did manage to get a shot off, which keeper Ian Brown saved, but the referee pulled play back for an infringement.
The stopper guesed the wrong way from 12 yards out with the ball being drilled down the middle.
After the interval however, Town improved enough for the boss to summise afterwards that, there was ‘only one team in it.’
Stacey Field made way for Graham Clark and there became more impetus on attack, but Bedford couldn’t force an opening until three minutes from time. Ian Draycott’s throughball found Jamie Cole but he couldn’t make the most of the chance.
Then in the final minute Brown went up for a corner, only for a melee of players to jump for it and see the ball fly over.
