The half back joined the club at the beginning of the summer and played all but one game for the club this season, which ended a fortnight ago after they narrowly lost out to local rivals Northampton Demons 24-16 in the Rugby League Conference East Division Final.

Ryder finished the season as the club’s second top try-scorer with eight in 11 games.

The half back will help Tigers see off their summer this afternoon with a memorial match against Leighton Buzzard Rugby Union Football Club to celebrate the life of Jack Brown, who played for both clubs before his death two years ago at the age of 21.

The game will be split into one half of league rules and the other of union. The game and the afternoon, which runs from 2.10pm at Putnoe Woods, will have a personal touch as Jack’s father Graham, who took over the chairman’s role at the Tigers at the beginning of this year, will be in attendance.
