The snow prevented this fixture from being played in January, but the game now has a whole new significance to the visitors who need nothing less than a win to be in with a chance of reaching the promotion play-off.
The Blues may have already secured their spot in the top eight, but director of rugby Mike Rayer isn’t going to give the Titans an easy ride as he names a strong 22 for the clash after two hugely entertaining clashes in the British & Irish Cup.
The Blues are pretty much at full strength at the moment with the exception of Mike Guess who has missed almost the entire season with an ankle injury.
Looking ahead to the game Rayer said: “Some people may think that just because we know our place in the play-offs we will be taking our foot off the gas, but nothing could be further from the truth.
“We have always said that we wanted to head into the play-offs on the back of a winning streak and over the past fortnight, and I include the match against the Barbarians in this, we have done just that in so called ‘dead rubbers’.
“The lads have continued to push themselves in training and that attitude is being reflected on the pitch and I don’t expect that to drop today.
“We know that Rotherham will be throwing everything at us on Saturday in an effort to get eighth spot. I also expect them to be out to gain some revenge for the close win we picked up at Clifton Lane earlier in the season.
“That said, we can’t go into this game thinking too much about how Rotherham are going to play. We have a game plan which we intend to stick to in the hope of picking up at least four points and continue our recent good work.”
