Corey Hircock has departed Bedford Blues to join National League Two South side Cambridge.
The 24-year-old former Munster man adds to the Volac Park outfit’s options across the back line.
He leaves Goldington Road after returning to the club for one season having previously progressed through the academy and is getting ready to start a degree this autumn.
Cambridge director of rugby Rowland Winter was delighted to add Hircock to the ranks.
“We’re really pleased he has joined,” said Winter. “He is comfortable across the back-line, he has been there and done it and was mixing with some of the best players in Europe at Munster.
“He has a bit of everything really. He is more of an outside back player, he is creative, fast, is a dynamic tackler and a good solid player.
“And he is hopefully coming into some of the best years of his rugby. It’s another Championship player we’ve signed and another heap of experience for us.
“He is big into his coaching and it is something he wants to develop. He will be out in schools and doing stuff with the age groups at the club and doing things on the community side, as well as playing.”
