A £50,000 a year television porn channel worker has been given a suspended jail sentence after being caught with more than 1,500 child sex abuse images.
Ian Smith, 43, had downloaded photos and video clips of girls aged between seven and 12, Luton Crown Court heard on Friday.
The married father-of-three was arrested at his home in Hillson Close, Marston Moretaine, in July after being trapped in a police operation.
Prosecutor Claudette Elliott said 1,501 images and 11 video clips were found.
Most were at the least serious end of the spectrum but a few featured the worst types of abuse.
Smith admitted he had been viewing child pornography.
Shown an image he had downloaded of a young girl bound and gagged he said: "Oh no - that is too much".
Smith now of Drapers Court, Marston Moretaine, appeared for sentence having earlier admitted 21 counts of making indecent photographs of a child and one of possessing them.
Benjamin Duncan-Jones, defending, said Smith had only visited free sites and had deleted many of the images without viewing them.
Since his arrest Smith has moved out of the family home and into a bedsit.
Judge Richard Foster told him: "These are very serious offences.
Without people like you there would be no need for the victims to be exploited."
He passed a four-month jail sentence suspended for 18 months with 12 months supervision.
Smith must also complete 100 hours community punishment, pay £4,400 in fines and £270 costs.
He is also banned from working with children for life, banned him from using a computer at home and must register as a sex offender for seven years.
