Police had to pull a young girl from the side of a multi-storey car park after witnesses say she threatened to jump from the third floor.
Passers-by watched as Bedfordshire Police attempted to talk the teenager down from her position, hanging off the rails of the Allhallows Multi-Storey car park in Bedford, at around 4.30pm on Monday.
Onlookers say that when the girl would not come down a police officer went up to the car park and pulled her to safety.
She was then taken to Bedford Hospital by ambulance as she was bleeding. Later the same night the girl, who is thought to be in her mid-teens, went to Weller Wing voluntarily.
