Awoman had to be resuscitated after her vehicle was involved in a collision.
The motorist believed to be driving a Vauxhall Vectra had to be taken to hospital after the incident which happened at around 12.40pm on Wednesday.
Her car was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo, driven by an 18-year-old man, at the bottom of Beverley Crescent, Bedford.
The road between the top of Ashburnham Road (junction with Bromham Road)and Deep Spinney, Biddenham, is currently closed and drivers are urged to take diversion routes.
Bedfordshire Police have said that the vehicles were recovered about 1.45pm.
