Woman assaulted in night club

Police carPolice are searching for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in a town centre night club.

The incident happened at around 1am on Saturday inside Embassy in Bedford High Street where there was a confrontation between four women, one of whom was struck in the face.

The 20 year-old victim fell to the ground and received cuts and bruising to her face.

Three women were later arrested and taken to Greyfriars Police Station where they were interviewed and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Investigating Officer Tia Forsythe, said there was a large number of people around at the time and is keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened

She said: “We are determined to find out who was involved and why. It may be that some people were shocked by what they saw that night and we would urge anyone who saw what was going on, and hasn’t already spoken to police, to contact us.”
