Witnesses sought to aggravated burglary

Police carBedfordshire Police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary was reported in Pulloxhill, Bedfordshire, on Sunday night (March 14).

The incident happened between 8pm and 8.15pm at a property in Maple Close after the 34 year old resident had returned home from work and put his two children to bed.

The victim was preparing the takings from his business for banking the following day when three men forced their way through his front door, forced the victim face down on to the floor and tied his hands and feet together.

The incident took approximately 5 – 6 minutes with the offenders searching the property before leaving the scene with a large amount of cash.

The victim managed to free his hands and alert the police who completed a search of the area.

Detective Constable Marc Holloway, investigating, said one of the offenders, armed with a knife, is described as a black man and all three offenders wore dark clothing and had masks or head wear pulled over their faces.

DC Holloway said: “The victim has received a small cut to his face but luckily has otherwise been unhurt during this ordeal. We believe that the offenders may have crossed other people’s gardens to get to the victim’s home and may also have had a vehicle parked close by which they may have used to leave the village. I would urge anyone who saw an unknown vehicle in the village or three men acting suspiciously, to contact the police, in confidence.”

Anyone who can help with this investigation can contact DC Holloway at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01582 473325, or text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
