WORLD Cup fever has struck a tone with a three-piece band from Bedfordshire.
Ouse Valley Singles Club released their tribute to the upcoming football tournament on the internet last week and it has already had more than 1,000 hits on YouTube.
It Could Be Worse features lyrics such as 'I believe in England, well what else can I do? The weather's bad, the country's broke, the roads are awful too'
A comedic swipe at football fever ditties designed to get in your head and stay there, lead singer Uncle Sam also sings the lines 'We tell ourselves that we're no good, that we lack ability. But if we only played our football like we our cups of tea.'
The band - also featuring Tim Andrew Barron and Amy Martell - describe themselves as 'The Clash meets George Formby Punk Skiffle trio with a Music Hall twist! You'll laugh so hard you'll get a wet penny patch!'
