Girl held over OAP 'happy slap'
A teenage girl has been arrested following an alleged "happy slap" attack on an elderly man.
Police confirmed the arrest after video footage of the apparent incident was posted online and left thousands of Facebook users shocked.
The brief clip shows the girl walk up to the pensioner, who was eating outside the McDonald's restaurant in Castle Square, Swansea, before appearing to punch him in the face.
Officers confirmed they were investigating the matter.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "We are aware of an assault which is alleged to have occurred at Castle Gardens, Swansea, on Sunday June 23, and which was later put on to the social media site Facebook.
"A 16-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody at Swansea Central police station."
