Two charged with robbery, assault and blackmail

Two men have been charged with a series of offences, including one of blackmail.

Jamie Hicks, 21, of Roxton Road, Great Barford and Ashley Watts, 22, of Bunyan Road, Kempston, were both charged with with four counts of robbery, three counts of assault, one count of blackmail and one count of theft from a person.

They were charged by members of Bedford’s Priority Crime Team in connection with an incident which happened in Midland Road, Bedford, on November 15.

Both appeared before Luton Magistrates Court yesterday (November 18), and will appear before Luton Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
