PM stirred not shaken

David Cameron looked relaxed as he visited members of the women's institute for a good old English cuppa on Friday.

It was a welcoming change of scenery for the Prime Minister following the major blow in the House of Common just days before when the Government was defeated over the EU budget.

He was visiting the Arlesey branch of the WI on Friday afternoon as things hotted up in the election campaign for Bedfordshire's Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC).

The PM joined Conservative PCC candidate Jas Parmar, as the pair met with members of a community safety group and neighbourhood watch scheme.

But thankfully for Mr Cameron, the questions remained fairly straightforward, a far cry from the challenge he faced from Tory rebels this week.

About why he chose to visit rural area, the PM said: "I think it's good to come to a more rural community like Arlesey so that we can highlight the policing issues here.

"The job of the commissioner is to check up on the police board. We need to have one person who is the go to person and whose job is to hold the police board to account."
