A trip to McDonald’s ended up costing a man £600.
Frank Falloon of Fenlake Road, Bedford, was in the Bedford High Street restaurant on July 4 when he had a fight with his girlfriend in the queue and left to avoid ‘causing a scene’.
On his way out however, the 26 year-old kicked the front door to force it open as it was stuck, resulting in the bottom pane of glass shattering into pieces and causing £390 worth of damage.
Prosecutor Joy Gir said: “He claims it was an accident and not deliberate.” Defending, Andrew Brumhill said: “He was given a community order for the burglary of a dwelling at Luton Crown Court in June with an alcohol treatment requirement. This is a problem he has had for a number of years.”
Falloon pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Bedford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was fined £110, and ordered to pay court costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £15 and compensation of £390 for the broken window.
