No Rolls Royce, no Bentley, no helicopter, no Royal train, but easyJet!
Has the credit crunch caught up with The Queen of England? Her Majesty was at London Luton Airport yesterday where she was seen taking her first ever public flight to Scotland.
The Monarch, accompanied by minimal security, was on her way to her Scottish retreat of Balmoral Castle for her Easter break. She was to join Prince Philip, who travelled up separately on Tuesday.
And rather than take the Royal Train - which costs an estimated £47,000 for each journey, the cost-cutting monarch chose to take an easyJet flight instead, which only cost here £22.99.
Andrew McConnell, a spokesman for the airline said: "We never divulge the names of individual passengers who fly with us, however the airline often carries VIPs who are looking for cost effective ways to travel."
