Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an armed robbery was reported on Thursday night.
The incident happened at approximately 10.50pm at the Parkland Food and Wine Store, in the High Street, Cranfield.
Four masked men entered the store as the 34 year old shop keeper was getting ready to close for the night. They threatened the victim with a hand gun and assaulted him before taking cash, cigarettes and alcohol and leaving the scene.
The victim was left shocked by what had happened but otherwise unhurt.
It is believed the offenders left the area in a small white van and the officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Constable James Panter, is keen to trace anyone who saw the men or the van.
DC Panter said: “We believe a number of people were leaving the public house opposite the shop at around the time this offence took place and I am keen to trace these people or anyone else who was in the area as they may hold vital information that could help this investigation.”
Anyone with information can contact DC Panter, in confidence, on 01234 275011, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
