Firm awarded for restoration of Grade II listed Bedfordshire building

ROBINSON & Hall has received a silver award for its work on repairing the roof of the Grade II listed Shuttleworth Mansion in Old Warden Park.

The firm, which is based in Bromham Road, Bedford, has worked on a vast number of projects and one area of specialism the company focuses on is restoring rare prestigious listed buildings in and around Bedford.

At an award ceremony held by the CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) to champion work carried out on historic buildings, the firm’s project to repair the roof of Shuttleworth Mansion in Old Warden Park received a Silver Award. The works were project managed and co-ordinated by the Architecture and Building Surveying Department from concept through to completion, all in accordance with conservation principles.

Robinson & Hall’s surveyors also project managed the exterior restoration of the prestigious 18th Century Swan Hotel along the River Great Ouse in Bedford.

Finally it worked on the historically important Bunyan Meeting Free Church, in Mill Street. Under the supervision of Robinson & Hall, works to improve the entrance foyer and redecoration have been successfully completed. Further restoration works are planned over the next 12 months including re-roofing and stonework repairs ensuring the building is restored to its former glory.
