Four Bedfordshire on Sunday staff collected top accolades at a prestigious awards ceremony.
More than 200 people representing some 20 publications across parent company Iliffe News and Media (Central) saw BoS receive three editorial and one customer service honour.
Around 300 people entered the awards and competition was fierce.
Pamela Wallace, a friendly face you may recognise from our reception in Mill Street, Bedford, was celebrating after sealing the customer service award. Her colleague Louisa Kugeniek was runner up.
Elsewhere BoS news editor Keeley Knowles led the way taking the scoop of the year, for her story of how a youth from Wilstead was banned from the US for sending abuse to Barack Obama. She also came runner up in both the journalist of the year and star performer categories.
BoS reporter Adam Thompson was handed the newcomer of the year award, while BoS photographer Keiron Hillhouse’s picture of hate from an EDL march in Luton earned him news photograph of the year.
In addition the best designed advert of the year, by designer Julian Clewes, was also produced in Bedford.
His colleague James Graham was runner up in the idea or development of the year section.
BoS’s sister paper Luton & Dunstable Express took the front page of the year award while LSN Media provided a host of runners up including BoS website (digital award), Keiron Hillhouse (unsung hero), Jo Ashpole and Lois Hutchinson (sales person) and Bedford Sales (team of the year section).
The event, backed by major sponsor Altodigital Ltd, took place in Milton Keynes.
INML Central MD Mike Richardson said: “It was a fantastic occasion and a great opportunity to showcase and salute the hugely talented people we have in our company.”
