CREDIT CRUNCH LUNCH

Paris House Restaurant, Woburn

A restaurant is offering a 'Credit Crunch Lunch' to help diners enjoy a meal without breaking the bank.

You can get a two-course meal for £20 at Paris House, Woburn, which includes fillet of seabass with fennel and pernod, lamb cutlets with rosemary and risotto of wild mushrooms in menus that change daily.

Outstanding chefs and brothers John and Ed Young and Colin Hart have rallied round at the restaurant following the recent death of chef de cuisine Peter Chandler (pictured right).

All three, who trained with Peter are holding the fort while Gail Chandler carries out a major reorganisation.

Peter, who trained with the Roux Brothers at Le Gavroche in Mayfair and the Waterside Inn at Bray, taught the trio his skills of fine French cooking, which is a feature of the menus at the restaurant in the grounds of Woburn Abbey.

Gail said: "We are determined to continue our fine standards and John, Ed and Colin have been working very hard in the past few weeks.

"We realize that people are still in the middle of a recession so we have introduced a special lunch to reflect the times.

"All our hundreds and hundreds of customers and friends have been wonderful and we are rapidly filling the restaurant over Christmas and New Year with people who want to remember Peter and the good times they have had here."

To book a table contact the restaurant on 01525 290692.
