Jane Thornhill - The Cutting Mill

New year in The Cutting Mill

After a hectic Christmas season colouring, cutting, curling and crimping, January is a much welcomed calmer, less pressurized, month.  We've time for everyone who walks in AND we can get OUR hair done!

A New Year gives us all license to try something different and we can experiment with a shorter look with bolder colours or, we’ve time now to allow our hair to grow for a few months before summer. Natural shades like chestnut, chocolate, copper gold’s and platinum blonde are favourites with bigger, blocks of colour being applied instead of fine highlights. Natural look brown eyelash extensions have been in demand for those off to the winter sun or just want to look beautifully glamorous and not too made up in this dark season. Eyelash and eyebrow tinting is a must for those spa breaks (look great wet!) and for those jetting off to winter sun or ski breaks.

NEW TO US....... Eyebrow threading!  Amazing, exacting, pain free (ish) hair removal. (Fascinating to watch, I'd like to learn how to do it!)  For exceptionally refined eyebrow shaping and facial hair removal, so quick and fuss free. £12.50 for eyebrow shaping. For those interested call 01767 650250 and ask for an appointment with Sharan.

Glittering gel nails look good all year round and are practical, hard wearing and chip free for 2 weeks.  We always include a hand masque (complimentary) to moisturise and pamper.

The sunbed lives on.  Popular for one, two and three sessions before the party to give your skin a glow and you a psychological lift and come January, the monthly unlimited is ever popular at £60. Wishing you all a Happy New Year and hope to see you in 2012.

curly hair Outside, new life is blooming all around. Here in the salon it's inspiring us to throw away the record card and start afresh! We're encouraging new looks with a slightly disheveled, textured finish.
gel nails January came and went in a flash and we were surprisingly active - in-between doing all our own lashes and hair. Lots of people postpone their hair 'till after the party season and enjoy a mutual

feather extensions We're looking into FEATHER extensions too, as seen at the salon international show at the Excel centre mid October. It's all about texture this season.
the cutting mill gamlingay perm The hot start to October brought in an unexpected stampede of short haircuts! We were using tea tree and mint shampoo to cool off and invigorate hot scalps and hot collars.
The Cutting Mill, Gamlingay LADIES; ... this week in the salon we've seen lots of post summer holiday hair.
