Hair style trends, winter 2012
AT this time of year it can be a tough task balancing a sleek fashionable hair look with a style that can withstand the elements. Luckily for us this season offers plenty of hair trends that make us look fabulous, no matter what the weather throws at us.
Short hair is still popular among celebrities and we ordinary mortals alike. Short styles this season are taking inspiration from times past with a retro tomboy feel. Gone are the bright and bold hair colours favoured by Katy Perry and instead natural, single coloured hair is back. Assymetrical hairstyles also continue to be in this season so for those not wanting to go the whole hog a shaved section on the side like Ellie Goulding can add a modern and slightly daring edge.
Retro with a twist is also the theme underlying the latest styles for men. Slicked back hair, as sported by David Beckham has now been given a new take with a funky undercut. Quiffs are also making a comeback but with a more refined feel, taking inspiration from the likes of Elvis and Johnny Cash.
Whatever your hairstyle, winter can take its toll on your hair. The important thing is to keep hair moist by using conditioner on a daily basis and avoid excessive use of heat products such as straighteners and curling irons. The Body Shop Range Forest Shine Range is recommended for normal/dry hair and can help maintain a healthy, natural shine whatever the weather.
