Beauty

If you are a supermodel, a nun or one of those rare people who is completely comfortable with how you look, stop reading now. For anyone else - come on in and check out Beautiful Bedford!

Now of course, we all know that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder but it's also true that there's always room for improvement.

With a little help from trained therapists right here in Bedfordshire, your natural beauty will shine through, you'll grow in confidence and feel fabulous.

Whether it is for a truly special occasion (can you hear those wedding bells?) or a treat for someone you love (this Mother's Day, forget the garage-bought bunch of flowers) in Bedford there are all kinds of pamper packages, spa treatments and rescue remedies to revive, rejuvenate and refresh.

Let your inner beauty shine through a gorgeous, outer glow!

It may seem obvious but sometimes just taking the simplest measures will go a long way to looking good and feeling great. Check these out...

1. It comes to us all

The first obvious signs of ageing tend to show around your jawline with evidence of sagging and lines on the neck. Use a firming or lifting serum to target the area.

2. It's the way that you do it

It's SO important how you apply creams and serums to your face. The skin is really a big muscle that needs massaging to keep firm and toned, so apply product in sweeping movements up the jawline for the perfect application.

3. Go easy on the eyes

The skin under the eye is very delicate, so don't use too much product. Opt for something that is soothing and cooling and massage it in oh, so lightly.

4. Get it right

Matting is so fashionable for your skin right now; team it with fresh, zingy pink lip colour and coloured mascaras. But why not dare to be different by trying out something new every few weeks? It's completely liberating and will help unleash your inner beauty diva!

5. Moisturising lipcare

Your lips are first to feel the effects of central heating and air conditioning, so opt for lipcare which contains a moisturiser. Try staining your lips with your finger in the first place and then adding layers until you reach the desired shade.

6. Hair today...

Look after it and it will still be there tomorrow. Hair straighteners and highlights can do untold damage to your lovely locks. To minimise the effects get regular trims, do weekly deep-conditioning treatments, and give your hair a break from the blow dryer whenever possible.

7. Go green.

Trying to be eco-friendly with every product you use can be overwhelming. So just make it a point to switch one thing this spring. Then, whenever it's time to make a new purchase, browse the eco-friendly beauty shelves instead of automatically buying your regular products.

8. You know you shouldn't...

But you're only human so you probably do. But that doesn't make those bad habits OK, especially if you want to look your best. Smoking leads to wrinkles, heavy drinking can dehydrate your skin, picking at your spots will only make them worse.  Say no more.

9. Get your beauty sleep.

Staying out late can be so much fun but do it too often and those lost hours of rest will be logged up all over your face. Be kind to yourself, an early night will give you lots of lovely beauty sleep.

10. Smile please!

Studies have found that those with a positive attitude suffer less from conditions such as heart disease. Laughter, it would seem, really is the best medicine.
