Ex-teacher in court over historic child sex offences

A FORMER Bedfordshire school teacher has appeared before magistrates charged with historic sex offences dating back to the 1980s.

Simon Barry, 59, of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire is charged with two counts of indecent assault, two counts of gross indecency and 10 counts of making indecent images.

After appearing at Bedford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and pleading not guilty to all charges he was bailed to reappear at the same court next month for a committal hearing.

The alleged offences date back to the 1980s and involve two boys aged 11 and 12 at the time. They did not report it until 2011 and 2012 when they were both adults.
