BLOGGER Tim Ireland, best known for his spat with Mid-Bedfordshire MP Nadine Dorries at a pre-election gathering in Flitwick, has been complaining about her to Mid-Beds Conservative chairman Andy Rayment.
The Tory chief has a clear opinion on Mr Ireland’s email replying: “I do not waste my time communicating with nutters so do not expect me to respond to any of your communications, electronic or otherwise.” That’s telling him.
LAST week, I reported on how our newsdesk had ALREADY received their Next Christmas catalogue . . . in September.
Today, I got a phone call from one of the top dogs explaining that the catalogue was not supposed to have been sent out yet. I think their deliverers may be as keen for our editor to buy us a Christmas present as we are. Hint, hint.
WOULD-be Mid-Beds MP Linda Jack was caught red-handed and left red-faced at the Lib-Dem Conference in Liverpool by security, with a pair of pink fluffy handcuffs in her handbag.
She claims she was using them as a prop and after they were confiscated, she then had to suffer the embarrassment of having to go and pick them up later.

WALKING down Mill Street, in Bedford, today, I nearly jumped out of my skin as a booming voice told me I should go to Split Endz for a hair cut.
Now, either the hairdressers have got a new marketing technique or someone has been let loose with a megaphone. Or maybe the voice from above noticed my split ends and decided some divine intervention was needed.
Whoever it was, I don’t know where it was coming from - there was no one in sight.
IT is group editor Lowe’s wedding anniversary. He decides to buy the present Mrs Lowe some flowers - very wise.
He knows she prefers them to come in a van, so calls a florist. It is hard work with the woman at the other end, as everything has to be repeated at least twice.
Come the message on the card (pictured above), Lowe says he would like it to say ‘still treading softly’, which is a reference to a line in a Yeats’ poem.
When the flowers arrive the wife is delighted, as they are a beautiful bouquet but quickly says: “You didn’t write the card did you?”
Jay Rayner, from BBC’s One Show, urged Robin to take a bite out out of a rather hot chilli as an intro to one of next week’s shows. In typical macho rugby style, young Robin hardly flinched. Well only a bit.
