IT’s not much fun in the morning rush hour in Woburn Road, Kempston - and that’s just on the pavement. As you can see from our picture, it’s not a case of where have you bin? but how on earth did you manage to get there through the blockade.

WE have had a few queries from readers about the apparent lack of drains in the newly resurfaced St Mary’s Street, Bedford, so as always we get on to the council to find out whether the workers have forgotten to put them in.
After a call to the authority we discover that in fact the work hasn’t finished and that the drains are to be put in to the kerb sides. And there we were thinking they’d forgotten!

I GET an interesting Google alert today about Richard Fuller welcoming an upgrade to an overcrowded jail. Sadly, it was in fact Sheriff Richard Fuller of Kalamazoo in Michigan, US, talking about their county jail.
The HMP Bedford prisoners are safe for now.
YOU have got to admire the initiative of the boys in blue.
Called to a location in Bedford town centre, they are quite wary of the stench caused by the discovery of a cannabis factory in a basement. It’s not something they could turn their noses up at so . . .off they marched almost next door and were seen in Wilkinson queueing up to pay for mouth masks. All in a day’s work.
ALL good things come to an end and so it is farewell to Bedfordshire on Sunday reporter Hazel Slade who, in a blonde moment, once guessed there were 30 countries in the world. Happily, she has found No 31 and is heading off to continue her life at the other side of the world. We wish her well.
