One of the extended Ball family, back at Bedford train station after a hard day in the Smoke, is removing his bike from the bicycle rack when he steps six feet back after what he describes as a “huge rat” pops out.

Shaken he heads off home and decides to ring the station and let them know of their rodent problem.

After an hour on the phone he gave up trying to get through, apparently there is no press 9 for dodgy rats on the First Crapital (sic) Connect line.

MP Nadine Dorries continues to star in the reality TV programme Tower Block of Commons.

This week when asked by a resident “Are you a Muslim then?” Nadine, the member for Mid- Beds, opines “No, I am an MP.” Indeed she is.
