BEDFORD will host its first ever comic book convention next month, attracting thousands of fans all hoping to meet a stellar guest list from the world of comics.

With over 30 guests from Marvel, DC, Image and 2000AD attending, it’s sure to be a big hit.

Comic collectors are expected to attend from across Europe to join this event which will include dealers from across the UK with a wide range of comic book merchandise.

This is sponsored by Bedford's own comic shop, Close Encounters, in Midland Road which is one of the UK’s leading comic book retailers.

Jeff Chahal convention curator says “This is Bedford’s first ever comic convention, we’ve arranged for some of the industry's top artists and writers to be here for two days. They’ll be signing and sketching all weekend. This is your chance to grab some original comic art from the people that not only produce the comics but also do the concept designs for many popular movies. We have people that have worked on Iron Man, The Avengers, Thor, Solomon Kane and many lot more. It’s time for Bedford to step up and support something that can be grown into one of the UK’s premier media events.”

The event will be held on September 7 and 8 at Bedford Corn Exchange and the Harpur Suite in St Paul's Square. It will run from 10am – 5pm on Saturday, and 11am – 5pm on Sunday.

Information and entry prices can be found on www.nicecon.co.uk
