CLAIRE Randall had an interesting visitor to her antiques shop...and then discovered that the exchange was part of a popular TV series.

The 49-year-old who runs Lawson & Lee in Dunstable Street, Ampthill, met antiques expert James Lewis last summer.

It was part of Antiques Road Trip, a BBC show which sees experts heading off around the UK searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.

Mrs Randall, who opened the store in November 2011 but was previously a teacher at Dame Alice School in Bedford, said: “It was great to spend time with James as he had a great sense of humour. He bought two brooches, a wooden box and some napkin rings.” The programme will be on at 4.30pm on BBC 1 on Monday, January 21.
